Playing Ronda Robada online

Ronda Robada seats 2 to 4 and is the house game where things swing hardest: taking somebody’s pile hands you everything that was stacked underneath it in one move.

On your turn you build the run step by step and watch it grow before deciding whether to continue or stop. You can confirm it at any point, even with cards still available to carry on with.

The game ends when the deck runs out, and the winner is whoever has the most points in their pile, not the most cards. High cards are worth more, so a small pile of face cards can beat a big pile of low numbers.

What gets settled before the deal

There is nothing to configure: the deal, the piles and what each card is worth are always the same, so a Ronda Robada table gets set up and started without anyone having to agree on anything.

Your first game

On your turn you build the run step by step and watch it grow before deciding whether to carry on or stop. You can confirm it at any point, even with cards still available to continue with: stopping at the right moment is half the strategy.

Only the top card of each pile is visible, and anyone can use it for their run and take the whole pile with it. That visible card is, in practice, the door to your pile.

The winner is whoever has the most points in their pile, not the most cards. A small pile of face cards beats a big one of low numbers.
